The power of the Word of Yahweh is best appreciated when you consider the work of Creation. The assertion is that all depended on the command or the Word of Yahweh: This can be found in several passages (Genesis 1:3, Genesis 1:6, Genesis 1:9, Genesis 1:11, Genesis 1:14, Genesis 1:20, Genesis 1:24, Genesis 1:26.)
That inspired word is also the power of the New Testament Gospel. For the Gospel is the power of Yahweh unto salvation, to everyone that believes; and the power of Yahweh is made known in the things that are created. See Rom. 1:16, 20.
Create in me a clean heart, O Elohim; and renew a right Spirit within me.
Therefore, if any man be in the Messiah, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
What is this new Creation that is brought about in the Gospel? It is righteousness, for the same apostle exhorted us to:
And that ye put on the new man, which after Yahweh is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24)
This is the great mystery of Creation itself: the power to create in the world what we imagine in our convictions. Righteousness also means good works, and so the apostle states that:
For we are his workmanship, created in the Messiah Yeshua unto good works, which Elohim hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
The Word of Yahweh is tested. He speaks with righteousness. And then exactly as He spoke to desolation and created the world, so He speaks to the sensitive soul that is needy of righteousness, and if that word is received, the blamelessness of that word is on that person.
For all have sinned, and come short of the excellence of Elohim; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in the Messiah Yeshua: Whom Elohim hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his Blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of Elohim;
To declare is to speak; so, when Yahweh declares His righteousness in Yeshua for the remission of sins, righteousness is spoken into and onto you, to take the position of your sins, which are taken away. And it is not just an unresponsive righteousness that are declared to you, but real, active righteousness, for the Word of Yahweh is alive, and Yahweh’s righteousness is real and thriving.
Let the word of the Messiah dwell in you richly in all wisdom
Appropriately interpreted, this single text solves the enigma of Christian living. Your union with Christ needs to be the center of your being. We are agents of Christ who, live in us, and in this union, we are the first fruits of the redemption of humanity.
It cannot be doubted that there is power in the Bible, far above that of any other paperback. Yahweh through the Prophet Jeremiah reprimands the false prophets, who speak their own words instead of the words of Yahweh. No human being has even the intelligence of what are world-shattering future events, let alone the power to bring them to pass:
The Prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath My word, let him speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith Yahweh. Is not My word like as a Fire? saith Yahweh; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
The word hidden in your heart protects us against sin. All sins, are first conceptualized in our minds and, once the wrong choice is made in the heart’s intent, they are set off in actual behavior from there on. Jesus said: He who looks with a possessing Spirit at a woman who is not his own is an adulterer in his heart, he has begun to go down the road to adultery.
Paul warns us and gives us a simple way of dividing the Truth from the lies:
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. (2 Timothy 4:2)
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
And of the upright we read that the reason why none of his steps slide, is that
The Law of his Elohim is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. (Psalms 37:31)
Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer. (Psalms 17:4)
The Word of Yahweh is the seed by which you are born again. The Apostle Peter says:
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the Truth unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: (1 Peter 1:22)
When you become Yeshua’s you are born again by the Spirit, and the Word of Yahweh is the seed from which you are build up into a new creature in Yeshua. The word holds power to harvest life. It is itself “quick,” that is, vibrant, and powerful; and the Psalmist prays to be reestablished, made active, be in harmony with the word, and then says:
“This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.” (Psalms 119:50)
For the Messiah also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to Elohim, being put to death in the Flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: (1 Peter 3:18)
Yeshua's own words:
It is the Spirit that maketh alive(quickened); the Flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63)
This indicates that the power of the Spirit of Yahweh dwells in the Word of Yahweh. With the information that the Word of Yahweh is the birthplace by which you are carried into a new life, and that hiding the word in your heart keeps you from sin, you may easily comprehend:
Whosoever is born of Elohim doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of Elohim. (1 John 3:9)
There is in the word that Divine liveliness which can transform your way of thinking, and make you a new Creation:
“which after Yahweh is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
